Keyboard shortcuts??
« on: 2015 January 29 13:39:14 »
I have looked, but can't find any listing of the various keyboard shortcuts for PI.  Anybody know if there is a general listing and if so where I can find it.

Thanks,

Jim

This is as close as it gets:

The ones for masks are invaluable, but it would be nice with a shortcut for showing/hiding previews.

A "close file" keyboard shortcut - or a way of closing multiple files in one go - would be great, too, and seems to me to be a glaring omission.   Does one exist (undocumented)?  Its apparent absence is the one thing about PI that really grips me (along with having to do image integration from files, not views)

A close image keyboard shortcut is potentially dangerous in my opinion, and unnecessary given the options available. Besides FILE > Close and the X button on each window:

From the main menu:

FILE > Close All
FILE > Close All in the Current Workspace

From the Console window:

      close <image-id-list>

where <image-id-list> is a set of image identifiers, which can include the wildcard characters (*?). For example:

close mask psf M31?_test
close *
close M81*

      close --force <image-id-list>

Same as above but closes images unconditionally, that is, without asking for confirmation if the images have been modified and not saved (so be careful when using this option).

For more information you can use the help command:

      help close

or just 'help' for information on console commands.

Thanks, Juan - i hadn't thought of doing this from the console window, which gives me the desired outcome of being able to keep my hands maximally on the keyboard (since there's a nice "open console window" shortcut ) and minimally on the mouse.

Good (and somewhat surprised!) to see that you take the trouble to field tyro questions (aka ignorance) along with advanced stuff - appreciated!
