I've seen this same thing twice now.  I am only running one instance of PI (on Windows 7).  Re-installing fixed it the first time but I'm loath to keep re-installing it without knowing why this is happening.

Regards,
David

Hola Alejandro

I can't reproduce this problem on any platform. Use Process > Modules > Install Modules to reinstall the XISF module, and if this doesn't happen again, let's put it in the "things that happen" category :)

Hi Juan,
Definitely that is the category. It is now solved and I cannot reproduce it again.

Saludos, Alejandro.

Well, maybe it is the same category as the occasional reports that processes go missing. It does happen, and in my opinion it happens more often than it should.

We have just added FAQ 3.9 to address this problem:

Hi Juan,
good idea to add it to the FAQ. Thank you!
Please note that the issue reported at the start of this thread happened on Linux, not Windows (judging from the screenshot).

Indeed, but it has been the only time this has been reported on Linux AFAIK. It could be a sporadic hardware problem, a driver or kernel error, or a desktop indexing application running in the background (such as Nepomuk or similar). These things happen from time to time without a known reason, although we have never seen it on our machines. In the case of Windows, these issues are definitely associated with virus scanning activity and/or virus infections.

I am near to confirm this. After many time experimenting I believe that one of the 8gb ram memories and one of the data cables possibly generate that sporadically the modules disappear and other issues when saving and reopen saved project.
