Issues with replacing star field with pixelmath

Im not sure where I am making the error. I am trying to paste the stars from one image to another.  For some reason, it will replace the entire target image with the star image.  I used a mask.

Hi!
It Looks like the mask was not enabled. When maks is enabled the name tab should be Brown!! Ist gray - means mask disabled.
I assume you have unchecked the enable mask button.
