Hello

I think you can use something like  Ha*median(L)+L*median(Ha)   and enable the rescale result.

Which expression should be used in PixelMath, for combining L and Ha image in 50:50 blending mode?

This is simplest way:

(L + Ha)/2

A more generic formulation is of course:

0.5*L + 0.5*Ha

mainly because it provides the structure to implement different combining ratios, such as for example:

0.75*L + 0.25*Ha

You can also define two symbols; for example:

a = 0.75, b = 0.25

and rewrite the expression to use them instead of literal values:

a*L + b*Ha

which can be more manageable, especially if you're going to use more complex expressions.

Hi Harry!
There is already a Blend Script available.
Origin by Mike Reid, Translation to German and extensions by me.
Program structure completely new designed by Hartmut Bornemann!
http://www.werbeagentur.org/oldwexi/Daten/Blend.js

This blend allows also the inclusion of a mask.
The latest version can also create a starmask from the actual Image.

Gerald,

Thanks for sharing the Blend script. Very nice! And Harry I went through with Google and Bing and translated the "Text" sections. Took about 10 minutes but well worth it all though I'm not sure for the best translation of  "Ãœberblend". Anyway very nice blending script.

Gerald,

Again thanks. For those of us who love PixelMath but are not good with it this script is wonderful. It takes a little getting used to but it is very powerful like all of PixInsight. I can see it being part of my regular workflows.
