Soul Nebula in narrowband
« on: 2014 December 02 15:06:31 »
The Soul Nebula from a shared scope at SRO.  Acquisition details are on Astrobin.  I used the ColorMask script several times while processing this and had some thoughts for further improvements...

Cheers,
Rick.

Link seems to be invalid. When I click on it, it opens dark nebula ia Aquila.

Gorgeous!  Would you mind sharing the process you used with the ColorMask script.  I haven't played with that yet and any insights would be most welcome

Best,

Jim

Thanks, Jim.  The main things I did with ColorMask were remove Magenta, make the yellows more orange and generally adjust the cyans and blues to taste:
  • Magenta mask: Curves reduce R and B, boost G, slight desat
  • Yellow mask: boost R
  • Cyan/Blue masks: adjust a*, b* curves, lightness and saturation
Cheers,
Rick.
