Hi , I'm Japanese and I started  pixinsight 2 years ago.
I find problems on PI about File I/O maybe related on setting of language.
Of course, I use PI on Japanese environment.(Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.1)

So I investigate you to following issue, and I guess maybe Japanese character path is cause of these issue.

Issue : XISF error
1. I update PI and installed [20141130-macosx-x86_64-module.tar.gz]
(XISF file format module version 1.0.0.23(update))

2. I put my .fit file on path that [NOT INCLUDE] Japanese character, and open it on PI.

3. I save .fit file to .xisf, the save is success. ;D

4. Next, I put my .fit file on path that [INCLUDE] Japanese character, and open it on PI.

5. I save .fit file to .xisf, the save is error and PI terminated abnormally... :-[

6. I restart PI and I retry step2-3, but [xisf] option is not appear in save dialog.

* To recover this issue, I re-installed PI and I retry STEP1-6, I got same result.

So I want to use the path that include Japanese character, Can you fix this problems?
*Other file format(ex:fit,tiff,jpg...)are O.K.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks and Best Regard, Yukihiro Iyama.

That happens because you don't have the XISF module installed:

- From the main menu, select Process > Modules > Manage Modules.
- On the Manage Modules dialog, click the Disable All button.
- Click Done.
- Exit PixInsight
- Run PixInsight. You should have 46 modules installed, including XISF.
