you can do cosmetic correction with BPP. i think you have to set it up and then save a process icon, then tell BPP the name of the process icon (there is a dropdown list)

Have tried this and get an error:

** Warning: The specified CosmeticCorrection instance is not congruent with current script settings (CFA Images): Cosmetic_Correction_3_Original

Have tried a few variants of CC.  Any ideas appreciated.

I believe it means you have "CFA Images" checked in the BatchPreProcessing interface and "CFA Images" is not checked in the CometicCorretion interface (it's in the Output section).
