Unable to drag file to open
« on: 2014 November 25 04:02:18 »
I downloaded the newest update (mac).  I am no longer able to drag an image file to PI workspace to open the image.

open "file:///.file/id=6571367.5252046"
Reading 1 file(s):
*** Error: Unknown or unsupported file type:
file:///.file/id=6571367.5252046

This occurs with fit, tiff, jpg, etc.

I can open the image by using the drop down menu

"file:///.file/id=6571367.997453" is what Apple calls a "file reference URL" (see for example this document). It seems that OS X 10.10 has changed the way file references are sent to applications...

From what I have read, OS X 10.10 is causing application compatibility problems. For this reason we have not updated our machines, which continue running 10.9.5 for now (installing .0 OS X versions is almost invariably a serious error IMHO). Right now I have no idea of what's happening, but will try to find a solution. The workaround is obvious: double click on the workspace to open files.

Only a complement:

In Windows if I try to drag a file from a remote drive to PI, I get a simmilar error.
If I instead map the drive locally it works ok.
