This is a "tutorial" that shows how I processed a Ha version of NGC688. NGC6888 is from my point of view a difficult object to process. The main challenge is to preserve/bring out details without "burning" the details in the outer parts of the nebula. I solved this by using MaskedStretch to make it very bright and then used curves to reduce the intensity and make contrast. The sharpen by use of a masked deconvolution as a "final" step on the nonlinear images is not traditional but gives good control.
The processing example was made to demonstrate the use of Pixinsight for people not familiar with this excellent tool so look at with that in mind. Please feel free to comment both layout and processing steps.
