This is the procedure where you add the RGB signal to the L to get a "Super L"... I just have so many notes nowadays I cannot find it.

Am processing some M33 data.  Very interesting article on M33 in Astronomy Magazine this month.

pretty much you just integrate all your RGB subs together in ImageIntegration to get the "synthetic L" image. then use LRGBCombination as normal.

Thanks.  As per recent discussions, the Super L has was less noise than the regular L.

Which noise are you referring? CCD, sky, etc?

Not sure this is exactly on point, but Juan offered his thoughts on SynLums and got me to change to only shooting 1x1 RGBs and using a Synthetic Luminance a while back.  Here are two threads worth reading on the subject:

The second thread referenced in the first post is particularly important as it really lays out Juan's explanation.  For convenience here it is again: http://pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?topic=1636.msg9297#msg9297

Best,

Jim
Really, are clear skies, low wind and no moon that much to ask for?

This works great! And as in a recent case, my blue frames were so much sharper than the actual Ls, that I used only the best Lums with all of the terrific Bs, for a really nice 'L'.
Best always, Warren
