RGB vs LRGB - datasets
« on: 2014 March 26 05:40:41 »
There are several threads on RGB vs LRGB and the relative merits of one over the other in a fixed period of time.  What I expected to see but could not find, was a practical experiment showing the combination of L RGB(binned) vs RGB for the same imaging period.  As I could tell from the discussion, the benefit of one over the other was also affected by the light pollution level too.

Is there a link to someone who has actually combined equivalent total exposures of these two approaches and compared the results?

This is a facinating new idea and contrary to popular 'wisdom' I'm in a country town and have started to accumulate RGB data and will then do the same for L(RGB) too. It would be great to compare results with the 'Jedi'.

regards
Chris
