Hi,
I want to register images of two different lenses. Due to the distortion is very different, PI don't matches the pictures perfectly. I have tried the two registration modules and "splines" is a little bit better but not good. The best I get is the following result:
http://www.tracking-station.de/zeigl/reg2.zipHere you can download the two unregistered images:
http://www.tracking-station.de/zeigl/Testbilder.zipMay someone please have a look at it?
If you wonder, these are no real astrophotos. These are only pictures of a picture ;-)
At the top of the registration process there is a field where you can load a distortion module. I think this may help, but I don't know where I can get it. Do I have to produce this by my own and how, or where I can find it?
Greetings
Tobias

Now I have the solution. The mistake was, that I used the Jpegs for registration. As I used the Raws the result was much better:

The only open question is: what is the Distortion Module and where I get it?

if you want to have a look at the raws, you can download it from here:
http://www.tracking-station.de/zeigl/raws.zipand here there is a blink-gif of the two lenses, aligned with PI (splines, distortion enabled):
http://www.tracking-station.de/zeigl/CanonTamronBlink.gifI was really astonished of the qualtiy of the Tamron. Anyway it is almost 1/4 of the price of the canon and is a zoom-lens, although the canon is not the newest one (10 years old).
As I saw my first result of the aligning, I was really disappointed, but now I am acknowledged again that PI is the best astrophoto-software I ever had.
PI rules :-)
