latest release
« on: 2013 December 16 03:49:16 »
This morning I received an e-mail with info regarding the latest version Ripley 1.8.0.1071 and links to the software distribution system, I was about to download the version for my Apple MacBook Pro when I noticed that its for OSX 10.7-10.9. As I am running on OSX 10.6.8 can I assume that this latest version will not be compatible with my system and that I should stay using my current one,I am at present on 1.08.00.1023  Neil

Hi Neil,

We still haven't tested the new version of PixInsight 1.8.0 for Mac OS X 10.6 compatibility. You can try to run it on your machine. Just make a copy of the old application, just in case. Anyway, the previous version, which has verified compatibility with 10.6, is still on the software distribution server, so there's no risk at all because you can always go back to the version that you have now.

Neil

I'm on 10.7.5 and downloaded the new version, unfortunately it crashes on launch every time (a bug with OS X ld ?)

So when I try to reinstall the old version of PI it won't run (unable to create instance), so I believe I must upgrade to Mavericks 10.9,   :sealed: , fortunately I can and at least its free but I'll wait till the weekend to do so

I'm having bugs... "Aliased controls cannot set event handlers"

I opened a picture, ran AdaptiveStretch.
Now trying to open HistogramTransformation, or CurveTransformation and I get the above message in a sub window,

This is a new behavior.

I cannot reproduce this problem. Can you upload the image and the applied processes?

Bill,
If a new version crash on 10.7.5 prevents the old version from running (likely), reboot the machine and try launching the old version again.

Juan, I tried to reproduce the event but could not. I did kill my PI instance and restarted it in the meantime however.
