DBE and Piximath
« on: 2013 December 08 12:36:21 »
Im a little confused. When looking at tutorials for processing examples (M45) they discuss using piximath to subtract the background from the image.  How is that different than under the DBE module selecting subtract?  The latter seems to output a subtracted background and changes the image.

oh, that tutorial is against pixinsight 1.2, quite old. i think at that point the DBE process did not know how to do the subtraction/division itself, that's all. it would just make a background model and you had to then apply it by hand somehow.
