Drag STF Parameters to TGVDenoise Local Support
« on: 2013 August 30 14:08:34 »
I've been working with TGVDenoise a lot lately, and trying a lot of different settings to see their effect. It would be nice if you could drag the STF instance to set the Local Support Midtones/Shadows/Highlights like you can with Histogram Transformation. It seems as if setting these values to reflect the STF settings is important to getting good Local Support.

Thanks, Sean

It would be even nicer if you didn't even need to do this - since TGV could discover the STF parameters it needs for itself! - no need to drag anything? - just have a button on the local Support section "Import STF parameters"

Please.

Hmmm... I don't know if this is doable, due the way PI is built behind the scenes. Anyway, I'll put this feature in the to-do list.

Carlos,

One thing that should be an easy fix (I say that being an uneducated non-programmer so feel free to tell me I am way off base) is that you cannot move between windows when reading the STF parameters.  When I set the edge protection using Statistics, I can keep the Statistics box open and feed the data into TGVD.  But you can't do the same with the STF parameters.  Instead you either have to write the settings down and then close the box or go back and forth (if I was a younger man, I might even be able to remember three parameters, but no such luck).

Simople but a time saver.

Thanks,

Jim

I'll discuss that with Juan.
One workaround that I think will work it to import the STF parameters to HT. There is much easier to read the values.

Thanks Carlos,
yes that is an improvement.  It at least gets the data on one page.

One interim change for transferring the data would be to allow the mouse to copy and paste (i.e. highlight, rt. click, copy/paste).  Currently, "ctrl C" and "ctrl V" keyboard strokes are the only things that work.
