I can't update the core

I'll post this again because I got no answer from support and zero help so far.

When updating the core I enter my username and password and got this error:

"Network error: schannel : failed to setup extended errors"

I'm using the http repository because the https doesn't work from my Pc.

Sorry I overlooked this post. See this post for information on schannel errors.

Do you have Windows 7 Service Pack 1 installed? This problem should not happen after SP1.

The hotfix didn't do it for me.

So the solution is " then there's nothing we can do to fix it."

Funny as all the applications manage to update properly on my system except Pixinsight.

Other applications don't use secure connections to download critical updates, but PixInsight does. I'll try to find a workaround to this problem in the final 1.8.0 version. However, Win7 SP1 should fix it. Have you installed it?

Update the core in the same way you update the modules? https is a pain in any windows system  8)

I musta missed the alternative solution? (yes I have a fully updated Win7 Pro 64bit)
