Generation of distortion models
« on: 2013 July 29 12:36:57 »
I have a new version of the scripts ImageSolver and ManualImageSolver. The main change is the capability of generate and use distortion models compatible with  the new version of StarAlignment.

A new option "Generate distortion model" in both ImageSolver and ManualImageSolver generates a distortion model compatible with StarAlignment. This can be done when the polynomial degree of the solution is greater than one. In this case the distortion model is generated calculating for several points the displacement between the computed solution and a lineal solution of degree 1.

The distortion models can be used in ImageSolver for assisting in the solving of distorted images that ImageSolver can not solve without them. Since this can be an chicken&egg problem (ImageSolver needs a distortion model which is generated after solving the image), the distortion model can be generated using ManualImageSolver. The user manual of ManualImageSolver describes this process (section "Advanced tasks" / "Manual solving of many images" / "Method 1 - Distortion model").

The user manual of ManualImageSolver will be available at the configuration dialog when the scripts will be published at the update server. Meanwhile, a PDF of the manual can be downloaded from this link:

Looks good Andres. Nice to see documentation. Thanks
