No RGB Data with Nikon RAW Files during Batch Processing or Image Integration

When importing NEF/RAW files the RGB information is lost. If I pre-convert them to .fit using Nebulosity then I don't loose the colour. I believe Nikon debayers NEF files automatically so there could be some additional de-bayering going on here in these processes but I can't see where.

Did you check the settings for DSLR_RAW in the Format Explorer?

The only options I have selected in the Format Explorer for DSLR_RAW are

'Use Camera White Balance' and Interpolation is set to 'Bilinear'. Ive retried with same files but different settings but with no success.

well so i guess the question is, what is your goal?

if you are going to calibrate your frames then you should not debayer them with DSLR_RAW. you should set it for raw CFA or raw RGB.

if you just want to load an image and look at the debayered result, you can set up DSLR_RAW to debayer the image, as you have.

you can also use the debayer process to debayer one of the images when opened as raw CFA or raw RGB.

i don't have a nikon camera. it's possible there is a bug here where DSLR_RAW can not properly debayer a .nef file. i kind of doubt it, but i can't test it either.

On the Batch Conversion the Bayering Options are greyed out and I can see anywhere where I can force it not to debayer.

Ideally I'd like to bring the RGB or however the colour is stored in a NEF file into PI through either the Conversion or the BatchProcessing
scripts.

well, there could be some issue with the batch conversion. what happens if you just do a single file by hand? or do you want to upload one of these nikon raw files somewhere and i can take a look at what happens?

I get the same result. I was doing a couple of files last night and they are as grey as the British Weather. I suspect when fixing the CRAW issue for Canon RAW files something may have gone astray with NIKON NEFs. Where should I upload my files to?

I succesfully debayered your test images here, so obviously it's nothing wrong with the files.
Do you have the Bayering Options (btw, it's Debayer options, right?) greyed out even before selecting the images?

If you convert it does the resulting .fit file still have RGB or is it just Grey? Thats the problem I have at the moment when I convert I loose all colour information.

When I save the image as a fits file, it still has 3 channels and is color, see screenshot from PI lower right display. To be honest, I don't quite understand what the problem on your system is. What are the exact steps you are taking? Can you provide screenshots of your RAW settings and the resulting images?
