H-alpha+RGB module for PixInsight?
« on: 2008 January 11 06:48:06 »
Hi all ..I am a new member of the forum. I only  found out about PixInsight a few days ago and
just starting to climb the learning curve. I tried  the SGBNR noise reduction on a H-alpha image I
had taken of the Californian nebula and the result was amazing to my eyes even with default values!

I am really looking forward to being able to use this software...

I used to think that astrophotography was 50% aquisition and 50% image processing ..
I think maybe one can spend a lot more time on imaging processing!

Anyway I am particularly keen to try the new  narrow band+ RGB combination techniques discussed on this forum. I have  read through the tutorial by Vicent (very nice!).
But I am wondering if a module exists already that one can use in PixInsight to construct such combinations..or is it still being devloped?

many thanks
steve T

Hi Steve,

nice to know that you enjoyed the article.

Yes, the module is still under development. We are now very busy with the commercial launch of PixInsight, but I think this module will be the first to be released after the launch date.

Thanks you very much for your interest.
Regards,
Vicent.

HI Vicent..ok many thanks for the info. I quite understand that now you want to support the commercial launch.
I intend to purchase the software myself ..I am very impressed the more I learn/read about it. So I'll be ordering it soon!
cheers
