So, as far as I understand, if I want to set my default settings for two or more instances, I have to open them simultaneously, and then set the preferences in each instance?
I normaly dont open more than one instance, so to be on the save area, I should set my deffault settings in two or three instances.

another question related to this, if I open a proyect, are the settings used during the last actualization loaded together with it?

Hi Mark, no way to reproduce what you have described on linux.
Here appears the typical warning "The DynamicBackgroundExtraction interface is already active in dynamic mode"
Why don't you try opening your customized icon, and creating a new instance and saving it again.
Maybe saving it with the new version solve the problem.

Saludos, Alejandro

Hi Alejandro,

I started PI anew and opened an image-in-process, and went straight to DBE.  In this case the DBE window would open each time I executed the customized process icon after I had previously closed the window.  And this is the expected behavior. So, different from yesterday.
I suspect that my problem occurs after I have been thrashing around in PI for some time, processing.  When it occurs again, I will try your suggestion and let you know.

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Alejandro,
Today I executed an initial DBE operation using the customized process icon for my luminance image (double clicked on the icon once it was brought onto the desktop).  Following the operation, I closed the DBE "window", but left the icon on the desktop so I could use it later.  Later in the same session I combined the Ha, O3 and S2 images in PixelMath to make the color image.  At this point I again executed the customized process icon (still on my desktop).  This did apply the tick marks to the intended image, but the DBE "window" did not open.  I could execute the DBE operation by dropping the customized process icon into the intended image, but could not close the DBE operation that was still showing on the initial image.  I then opened a new version of the customized process icon (of the DBE), but could not get the window to open.  I could move forward with the new DBE processed image, but could not clear or close the initial HaO3S2 image.
Finally, I opened a default (unaltered) DBE process, and its window did open.  When I closed this window, the initial image cleared (of the tick marks) and I was able to close it.
