Hi Christof,

This is actually a bug, since the FITS standard specifies the following format for the DATE and DATE-OBS keywords:

YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss[.sss...]

so the CometAlignment tool should interpret the seconds fraction. This problem is very easy to fix. It will be fixed in the final 1.8.0 release. Sorry for the trouble.

FWIW, I for my own have solved this problem by writing a little program that removes the seconds fractions from the DATE-OBS keyword. Perhaps a provisonal solution up to the much better one announced by Juan.
If there is any interest, I could post the c-source code.

Use whatever fits your needs. This bug is now fixed with an update that we have just released for all platforms. If you try it out, let me know how it works.

Hmm,
my PI says it's up do date (Resources - Updates - Check for Updates), but the bug is still there. The process Console says: *** not found DATE-OBS in file
