Tool bars reset
« on: 2013 March 05 13:11:14 »
Every time I open a PixInsight, my tool bars are reset to default set. I disable Zoom tools and enable Geometry tools. After restart, Zoom tools are again visible and Geometry tools are missing. How can I set this set as permanent? The same with thin vertical blue line. If I set position, the line is again at the default position after restart. Please help!

I apologize for my previous topic. Tool bars and vertical bar on the desktop did not reset every time. I was using PI at home and at work. Once a day. That was "every time". Now I had tested PI whole day. I started and closed PI every hour. Nothing happened. When I run it at home, tool bars was reset to default. The same occurs next day at work.

I use two displays at work.

1. When I started computer with only one display and run PI, tool bars has been reset to default.
2. When I restart computer with two displays and run PI, tool bars has been reset again.
3. When I restart computer without change of display and run PI, tool bars did not reset.

Is it possible to do anything to prevent this reset?
Where is stored configuration for this session?
How can I save this configuration and use it every time I run PI?

My configuration: PI RC5(32bit) on Win7(32bit).

Hi,

When the screen geometry changes across sessions, the PixInsight Core application performs a reset of tool bars and other GUI elements for sanity. This is done because, for example, some tool bars may become inaccessible if the screen geometry is reduced significantly.

In your case, I agree that this behavior is a pain if you have to use the application alternatively with and without a second monitor. I'll try to improve on this for the final 1.8.0 release, i.e. by implementing a smarter and/or user-selectable automatic tool bar reset feature.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
