Win7 64-bit - Ripley 963 Crash on Close PI
« on: 2013 March 04 00:03:38 »
Just recently I started seeing crashes when closing down PI after saving a new project file.  Its pretty repeatable, in that I've seen it the last four times I've performed the same sequence: Save Project... , then simply File | Exit...

Windows Error dialog on crash:

Hi Rod,

I have managed to reproduce this exact problem a couple times on a laptop with Windows 7 x64. I think you may be interested in my answer to another (perhaps related) issue:

Summarizing, the problem is being caused by Microsoft's C runtime (Visual Studio 2012). Fortunately, it happens only upon application exit on rare occasions (at least for me).

Thanks for the update, Juan... I see you're looking for data points... have you narrowed it down enough that you don't need any further input?  If its the MSCRuntime module, then it shouldn't appear in Mac/PI installations, I'd assume.  Or is Microsoft that ubiquitous? :)

[ Later edit: just read about the resolution you announced so I won't bother with any more tests. R ]
