[RC3] [OS X 10.8] Crash when closing image windows

I have the same problem. i can hardly do any processing, the app crashes every few minutes. i've just bought a commercial license and i am really disappointed about the stability under OS X.

i would suggest downloading 1.7 and using that for now. it's very solid, at least on OSX (i dont use the other platforms)

but hold the phone, 1.8RC4 was released today. should have fixed some macosx bugs.

I have installed the latest 1.8RC4 but the problem with the crashes is not resolved!

Is there any progress about that bug?

Hi,

We have just released an update that fixes this bug. It was actually a bug in the HDRMultiscaleTransform tool, which was reported yesterday.

Please let me know if you still have the same problem. After fixing the HDRMT bug, I can't reproduce it with RC4 on Mac OS X 10.8.2.

So far so good for me, MacBook Air, Mac OSX 10.8.2, PI RC4 plus updates. Thanks Juan, it looks like you extinguished this nasty little critter! I'll test on my iMac later today.

BTW, for Mac users having that intermittent problem with Crash on exit of PI, I got into that loop today trying to apply the updates to RC4. I just restarted my MacBook Air (it had gone without a reboot for several weeks or more) and all was well - no crashes on exit and the updates applied.

  I think it's fixed. I've tried the same operations and process that previously crashed, and now they run like a charm!!.

Hi Guys,

I am running on a Mac with the very latest OS (10.8.3). Also with the very latest Ripley 1.8 RC 5. All PI updates applied and it crashes every other minute - especially when closing images. Its trivial for me to reproduce.

Open PI. Open a luminance image. Open StarMask. Apply StarMask. Close the produced star mask using the top left 'X' - bang crash.  Interestingly closing it using the top right menu - close window is fine.

I have seen the crash closing all sorts of things (previews etc) but the above is the simplest to replicate the crash.

Anything else I can provide pls let me know. 1.7 was stable for me.

This is really strange. I have just recorded a screencast on one of our Mac development machines with OS X 10.8.3:

As you see, there is no problem with closing windows on RC5. The machine is a brand new 27" iMac. I can open, process, save and close grayscale and color images of any sizes and file types, using masks and any tools, without any crashes or problems.

Anyone else is having similar problems?

I've just made a *very* intensive stress test on the same machine, with images up to 16K*16K, with no crash or problem at all. I have no idea of what happens on your machine.

Could you copy and paste the crash report? Thanks!
