PixInsight startup error

I have narrowed this down to an application called WinaXe.  I restored to 11 Dec and Pixinsight ran fine on the notebook.  Began reinstalling updates and applications without problems.  Restarted PixInsight after each install/update.  Only thing left is the WinaXe program.  I am somewhat afraid to install it.  I think I will wait a day or two then set a new restore point and try installing it and see what happens.  Or not.  I only had an evaluation copy anyway and I think it failed my evaluation!

Hi Tom,

Great news. If you want to operate Linux and Windows on the same machine, my advice is to install a modern Linux distribution on a second partition of your notebook's hard drive.

By the way, I strongly recommend you to use PixInsight on Linux. It's more stable, faster, it doesn't cause disk fragmentation (which is essential for an application that makes heavy use of large sequential disk files), and manages RAM more efficiently.

Actually, the problem program is similar to Exceed Hummingbird.  Linux is on a separate, dedicated box.  I will try PixInsight on the Linux box.
