I dont see this in my Fedora18 installation. Start PI, Load Image, Histogram Transform, Exit, Confirm that I want to exit. No exception....

Which Linux are you using? Any special modifications to LD_LIBRARY_PATH? Any modules loaded on top of those in the standard distribution? What is the exact sequence of actions? Is it reproducible?

I have tested some other processes - histogram/Image->Binarize .... - the problem is reproducible after Image -> Geometry only

No crash here. Does it happen with all images, or only special ones?

Anything to do with the fact that on 1.8 the default orientation of FITS files is different than 1.7 ?  (sounds strange, but a bug is a bug). ?

Hi Kai,

I cannot reproduce this problem on Fedora 16, 17, 18 and Ubuntu 12.04, 12.10, with KDE and GNOME 3 desktops, physical machines (F16) and VMware virtual machines. I'll try to install an OpenSUSE virtual machine to help you (but can't say when; too many priorities right now).

Sorry for the trouble.
