Stacking Flats
« on: 2013 January 14 08:05:52 »
I only want to stack flats as I just took a bunch yesterday to update my collection but I don't see an option in PI Batch Processing that would allow me to only stack flats.

I used DSS before and I am trying to teach myself how to use the BP script but it is not exactly user friendly.

Any pointers would be appreciated

Jeff

Hi Jeff!

You need bias frames (min. 3) or darks (min. 3).
If only dark frames are available, the will scaled down to the flat exposure time (check 'Optimize dark frames' in the Option section!!).

But the best is to use bias frames - it requires a little time to make it   ;-)

I hope this helps.

Best regards.

I got it to work, I wasn't using Bias.  I have been imaging for a year or so, still consider myself a beginner but I never never seen Flats looks this good.  I mean yes, they are just flats but I was never able to see the dirt until I used PI.  I can't wait to process Lights.

I am going to check out those Tutorials, thanks alot.
