Hi Lex!
Hi Gerald,

Is there a possibility that your videos will be on YouTube one day?

Surely it will be easier to access and more people could profite of your great work...

Thanks
So far i did not think about putting the videos on Youtube because Youtube usually
has low quality - in resolution - so, details will not be visible i think?.
Also, to watch the videos now you klick one Link, to watch
the video on Youtube you also have to click one link.
At the moment i dont get the advantage of putting the videos on Youtube?

Beside the resolution quality i dont see any reason why the videos should not be on Youtube  - except one more -
i dont know at the moment what software has to be used, Or do i only have to
compress the video to smaller resolution, save as *.wmv again and than?

Aloha Gerald

youtube now supports up to 1080p and they understand a variety of input file formats. you may simply be able to upload what you've got. maybe if you make a short clip and try it you can see how it looks without investing a lot of time.

i don't know if 1080p is enough for your screencasts, but it is worth a try.

Gerald,

As Rob said, Youtube does indeed support a variety of filetypes. On the other positive side you do not have to follow a link because you search about "pixinsight pixelmath" and you'll find it.

Vicent Perris, Harry Page and many other top rowed Imagers also uploaded HD quality Videos, all great and a good way to share PixInsight with the world, superb commercial for free!!! O0

I think it would be a peaty not to publish your hard work even more

Best
Clear Skies!!

Lex

Thanks Gerald,
I'm new to PI, so this is a great help. Its clear and easy to understand. I do feel like I'm back at school trying to understand the formulae though. My maths was never very good. Looking forward to the second part.
Tom.

Thanks Tom!
Thanks that you find the video useful.

Video in Work at the moment is the translation of my finished german "Linear HaOIII_LRGB Combine" video to english.
Should be english beginning next week.
Next will be the video for star reduction/removal and increase visability of nebulae.
Than PixelMath 2 will be produced, the "book" for it is already finished.

Hi Jules!
As mentioned in my last post -
The PixInsight Tutorial Video
"Linear Ha_OIII_L_RGB Combine" is available now in english also.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/57910417/Video03_Kombination_OIIIHaLRGB_END_english.wmv
This version is executable directly from dropbox.

I do also have a version with table of content, i could upload it also
to dropbox but this TOC version has to be  completely downloaded with subdirectories
and executes than on your pc. Somehow complex... If you want it
let me know.

Aloha

Gerald and all,

I have been following this thread and watching the videos with great interest. Thank you very much for making these videos available. They are great!

I am creating links on my desktop for easy access. How are others providing local access to the videos? (One of these days I just must get myself better organized).

Add my vote for putting them on Youtube if it can be done without degrading quality.

Hi Gerald

After watching your video (it was very good). I tried following your work flow but I do not have the HaRGB combination script. I have downloaded it, installed it in Pixinsight/contents/src/script.

However I don not see it when accessing the scripts through PI 1.8 RC3. Do you know if these scripts are platform independent I am using OSX on a Macbook?

Julian

Hi Jules!
HaRGBCombine should run in 1.8 also
but you have to correct line 128 in the script if it was not corrected so far.

See Juans Solution for this  in
http://pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?topic=3446.msg35224#msg35224
in Reply #74

After this correction:
Run the  "Feature script" with all steps
to make the script accessible and visible in the menu?

or
simply select under the script menu
Edit script
  select the HaRGBCombine
press F9 to execute  (after correction of line 128)
