Format error
« on: 2012 November 21 08:00:59 »
Hi,

Almost every time i use batch preprocessing i get this problem :

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/97102214/Format_error.jpg

After going through many subs i get this message and i have to remove one or many of them to complete the batch.

Camera is ST2000XCM, images acquired with CCDSoft.

Very annoying really.

Any help appreciated.

So the problem is with file 69? Or with the last file shown, numbered 68?

Bonjour Philip,

That's what i usually do, delete the next file and so on until the remaining ones
go through, sometimes 4-5 files in a row.

If i look at the files headers of the "offending" file i don't notice anything different.

Strange...

Bonjour Jean Guy,
Why don't you place these 3-5 files in an archive on Dropbox and let me know where. I'll have a look.
At the same time, make sure to include one file that you know is good.
Merci,

Can you tell me which one is the good one? (I presume 2 are bad, one is good?)

Sorry, the last one that made it was 68, so i think the offending ones were 69 and on.

Jean Guy, since you are running the Batch Preprocessing script, have you tried to run the Diagnostics button, rather than the Run one? So far I am not finding any problems with the FITS. I have looked at the headers and I parsed through them with 'od' and they are just fine and legitimate.
I am going on the idea, right now, that it is the script that is barfing for some reason... and I am hoping that the Diagnostics will give a better listing of what the script is doing when reading the files.

Philip, yes i always check the Diagnostic before running the script, and it was OK.

I will try to stack the registered files created with the script, in case...

Hi,

OK i did try to integrate the subs outside the script and it worked.

So, maybe there is a bug in the script ?

Yes, too bad the script does not exit listing why it is not working... The dialog box shown (first message) is a consequence of the failure, not the reason...
