Could you upload a fits file, so we can take a look if the information is still in there, or it has being already clipped before?

I don't believe that it is related to cooling. That does not explain why are there so many zeroes. You'd still have readout noise of a few ADUS, so you won't have a constant zero level.

Thanks Carlos. I hear another service coming up? Just as well it's still under warranty.

that file is really messed up badly.

looks like you are using CCDOps for camera control... is it possible to use even a demo version of another program such as maxim to see what will happen? did you buy the camera new? my sbig camera came with a license for equinox image (mac). i thought you could get a license for either CCDWare or Maxim (can't remember now) if you are running windows.

I'm open to suggestions right now. I have CCDSoft and IRIS. I'll try them first.

EDIT: CCDSoft it is for now. I'll see how that goes.

Yeah, I saw it... I'm inclined to think that it is a problem in the capture settings or the saving process. It seems that the data is already clipped in the file.
So, first try using a different capture software.
