Hi,

I reported this a long time ago but this is still here or maybe it regressed:

- load a color image
- look at the tool bar
- see that the channel selector is inactive (see screenshot)
- Select Image->Display->Red (or any other selection)
- channel selector is now active

It's one of those "we can't reproduce it here" problems like the mask menu inconsistency issue but these need to be stomped out before adding a script editor.

W7-x64.

Best,

The screenshot above should be plenty of proof but hey, no response so out come the big guns.

Sander,
sorry, I dont see this in my PI installation. Does it happen with all images, or only special ones?

Every color image every time on every computer. And for a long time now :-)

If you are turned off the 'splash screen', try to turn on again. This solved this issue to me  :D

Enzo.

I can confirm this behavior in Win7 x64. When "Show splash at startup" is turned off the bug reported by Nocturnal happens. When "Show splash at startup" is activated the channel selector works ok.

Wow, so the splash screen fixes the problem! Who would have expected this!

Good grief!

I figured it would be some subtle settings things though as Juan could not reproduce this. I will try this later tonight. Thanks! Of course I'm still leaving the splash screen disabled, I'd rather use the menu workaround.

Yeah, the splash screen causes this bug.

I guess the lesson is that PI settings are crucial and affect program behavior in unexpected ways. For the next report I'll attach my settings file. At least it explains why Juan could not reproduce this problem and probably the other one too. Now to reproduce some of the other GUI oddities I've noticed.
