I understand that the Hubble Legacy Archive primarily focuses not on the artistic side, but I want to get high-quality results as possible mergers on Image 1 image halves. With respect Pavel.

Hi Geoff,

Thanks for mentioning the black `Footprints' window. I'm getting the same thing myself, using Safari on one or another MacBook Pro (one running Snow Leopard, the other running Lion). I suspect I'm going to have to enable cookies in some way, although I thought I also had cookies enabled.

Don't know if I'll stumble into a solution, but if I do, I'll try to remember to post it here.

The footprint tab is black in IE9 as well as in Firefox.
I think there is a problem with the site itself

In the HLA you can find images that are made at different wavelenghts.
They range from 435 to 814. I think 435 is red and 814 is blue ?
But sometimes you can only find higher number, 555,658,660.

I use the lowest numbers for red, and the higher ones for blue, and I make green with PixelMath by using the formula r*.5 + b*.5.

My question is : are the colors still correct if I use for example 658 as red and 814 as blue, or 435 as red and 814 as blue, or sometimes I only have 658(r) and 660(b). ?

Usually the colors come out quite nicely, but sometimes not.
Is it OK to use 3 wavelenghts for example 435 (r), 658(g) and 814(b) ? Because then there is a lot of green and purple, and I haven't seen that in many pictures of galaxies.

Weird. I just tried Footprints in both Chrome and Safari on my macbook running Mountain Lion -- no issues, I can see the image and all the overlay frames. Have you all tried searching for a well known, easy object like M51? That's what I tested on.

Josh,

Since yesterday I also no longer have problems with the footprints.
I tried it on well known objects M51, M81, with images from all possible camera's. The footprint stayed black, but the images were visible as was the inventory in their own tabs.
So I think it was a temporary problem with the site itself, I didn't change anything and since yesterday everything was fine again.
