Batchpreprocessing - Bug on CFA RGGB option?
« on: 2012 August 02 23:26:52 »
Hi,

I just noticed that when I debayer one of my M57 subs with the debayer tool or the batchdebayer script, and I select in both tools RGGB, I get the right colors (i.e. a nice red ring around M57) but if I use the Batchpreprocessing script and I select RGGB, then I get the wrong colors.  I have the feeling the Batchpreprocessing script is not working right with the CFA RGGB option.

Any thoughts?

Hello,

I think I have the same issue. I stacked darks, flats and bias frames using ImageIntegration to produce the master frames. For this I followed a procedure from this forum. They are OSC images.
Then I stacked everthing with BatchPreProcessing with the same settings and I got an image that has a completely blue background after a STF, with no nebulosity left.
But since I'm fairly new to PI, it's very possible I'm doing something wrong somewhere in the process.

Are you saving the files in fits format? Did you change the preferences of the FITS file format to use the upper left corner as the origin of the coordinates? There may be an inconsistency there between the frames and the debayer routine, that causes the problem, due to a wrong orientation. Take a look at that.

Hi

Yes this is a problem which I have raised before  8)  I had to use a different setting within the script , a bit unfriendly though

I got completely wrong colors with the BatchPreProcessing tool because I used pre-existing master bias, flats and darks.
When I made the tool process the bias, flats and darks, the image came out fine. Just upside down.
Now I can try to improve on the post processing, which will surely require a lot of work and exercise, because of the enormous amount of tools.
But the tool feels powerful.
I will post my results as soon as I can show something decent. :D
