Slow process
« on: 2012 July 09 06:31:49 »
Hi,

I don´t know if it is normal but I am doing something for first time and the behavior is extrange.
Applying MMT on an ImageContainer wich has 1890 images start working very fast but now that it is arriving to the end of the process it become very slow, almost five minutes each picture.
I am working in W7 64.

Saludos.
Alejandro.

Still seeing this happening in 1.8RC7, OS X. (related http://pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?topic=1984 )

This is pretty problematic on an imagecontainer of nearly 80,000 files ;)

In my case the process is an ABE.

memory leak? can you guys see what's going on in your virtual memory system while it's slow?

I don't think it's a memory leak that's causing the slow down. It's currently occupying ~0.5G on a 16G system, with 11G free. The slowing down is definitely happening, but the leak if there is one is not major.

I just experienced the same.  Applying a FitsHeader update to 100 images in an ImageContainer slowed significantly as it progressed through.  Win 7 Pro, 1.8.00.1015 X64 RC7
