Loading files for LRGBCombination
« on: 2012 May 22 22:45:15 »
OK, I'll probably kick myself when I find the answer.  The LRGBCombination process has <Auto>in its channel boxes.  This implies (to me) that there is some way of having the tool automatically load the files using the filter info in the fits files, but I can only do it manually, one file at a time.  So what does <Auto> do?

My understanding for the <auto> is that if you have a view that's called, NGC1234_L, it detects the _L as the first guess when you select the dropdown for that channel.  Similarly for _R, _G, _B suffixes.  But I think you still have to use the dropdown.

You're correct Troy.  I just renamed my files from "M83 Red.fit" to "M83_R.fit" etc and now it gives me the correct file as the first guess when I pull down, so it has to be  _R, _G, _B in the filename.  Fits file data is irrelevant.
