Image calibration - Error .fits message - Can you help?

I have always stacked my images in DSS as it is very easy for me. I decided to try PI and am following the tutorial from here by Vincent peris. I have integrated my bias files and now have a master bias. When it comes to image calibration (again following the tutorial) I use my flats (all in .fits format) and put in the master bias for calibration.
The error message I get on screen says
PCL FITS Format Support: Unable to create fits file
I am following the tutorial exactly and so can not understand why it will not work with my fits files.
Can anyone help? I'd love to nail this stacking in PI.

I believe you need to choose/create an output directory for the calibrated flats images that are created. Also per Vicent's tutorial, I do enable the master dark section and indicate the path to the master dark file.

I'm not using darks - Only bias and flats.
That won't make a difference though will it? As long as it's not checked I'm assuming that it will be OK.

make sure your file names dont contain "()" characters. This is a known problem of the fits routines, and should be in the FAQ...

Thanks for that - Bit of a pain when PC's rename files with a '(.)' designation!!
