Sh2-171 in H-alpha
« on: 2007 November 03 19:15:35 »
To all,

Here's an image of Sh2-171 taken October 30th.  It's a combination of two 30-minute exposures using a ProLine 16803.  A Pentax 67 300mm F/4.0 lens was used wide-open.

I look forward to combining more images of this wonderful field of view this upcoming New Moon.  Most of the processing was done in PixInsight Standard.  I also did a little Regularized Richardson-Lucy deconvolution.  I'm hoping Juan or someone will develop a nice tutorial on deconvolution since I'm clueless about the settings and how to find the proper PSF.  I did look at the tutorial using the Moon; however, it doesn't help much with deep-sky objects.
