Boosting saturation for single colour
« on: 2012 April 03 03:43:58 »
One of the things I like to fiddle with in PS is the vibrance and saturation tools.  I'll often push blue saturation alone a little.
How would you do that in PI?

(will go and wash my mouth now for mentioning the OTHER application  >:D)

I'd like to more of my final layering and tweaking in PI if at all possible.

Hi Rob,

simply use ColorSaturation process. By manipulating curve control points, you can increase/decrease saturation for individual color hues. Take a look at last screenshot in this tutorial by RBA: http://blog.deepskycolors.com/archive/2011/01/16/HDR-Composition-with-PixInsight.html.

Another way to adjust saturation is with the CurvesTransformation tool, by selecting the "S" component, and adjusting the curve. This does not allow you to adjust saturation for individual hues, but if all you want is a general kick (up or down) on the saturation, it might be a better option.
