'Enable Mask' and 'Show mask' menu items are reversed

Hi,

either the 'enable mask' item should be called 'disable mask' or it should be highlighted by default when a mask is chosen. Same for 'show mask'. The highlighted menu item indicates 'enabled' but it behaves as 'disabled'.

The one above it 'invert mask' seems to work properly.

Hi Sander, in win 7 it is enabled by default. It means that when the mask is selected both enable and show mask are highlighted

then in my case something must have gotten flipped. I just confirmed that when 'mask enabled' is highlighted, it's actually not masking. This can't be correct.

As with the previous one, I can't reproduce this problem on Linux and Mac OS X which is what I have right now. However, could you provide crops of the image and the mask in question, after making sure that masking is not working for them with Enable mask active?

Ok, this is easy to reproduce. Simply drop a mask on an image. Open the menu. The mask is indicated not shown, not active but it's shown and active. With a little fiddling it can be made consistent but it's not at first. There may be other conditions where this is also true but let's knock this one down first.

And another one. See how the menu says the mask is shown and enabled but neither is really true?

I don't know if it helps but I think both cases are correct.

In the first case the active image is L, so is not shown because L do not have mask, if you click on the main image it should be shown as active.

The second example is a preview, I think that task bar always displays the information related to the last image selected that in this case has mask and so is active, whether you select do not show in the preview window.

in the first case you are right, let me try that case again. In the second case the active window is right behind the preview. It shows that the RTP window does not have the 'mask' button enabled even though it should be, according to the menu.

Yes, I have the same behavior but I thought that it was correct.

Look at the screen shots, in both cases, selected and deselected mask in RTP the task bar is showing what happens in the main image.

Hi,

here is my latest (and last I hope) screenshot. This is not correct. Juan: please comment and let me know if this shows it clearly enough or if I'm just misunderstanding what the menu is supposed to show.

I added the mask by dragging/dropping it onto the image. The text in the bottom right does not show anything about the new mask. When I toggle masking using the menu the text at the bottom right shows Masked (disabled) when the menu shows 'enabled'.

This is on a freshly started PI.

I've just made a quick test with a laptop running Windows 7 x64. See the attached screenshot. It works correctly.

I have no idea why is this happening to you. Is there something peculiar in your screen or desktop configuration?

the only thing that I can think of is that I did an module reset a few weeks ago when I had trouble getting my project to load.  I see this behavior on both systems I use. It's a stretch but could it be related to me turning of various GUI effects? Is there a config file I can attach?

Yeah, the 'enable mask' check item in the menu is definitely reversed. Either the name needs to change to 'disable mask' or the check box behavior needs to be flipped.

I've seen this "reversed behavior" before in the toolbar (never checked if it was also happening in the menu options).

It doesn't happen in this PC I'm using here during my stay in Spain, only in the one I have in the US, and only sometimes. Both are Win7x64 machines...

I think I mentioned it here back a while ago as well...
