STF not always disabled when 'reset' is pressed
« on: 2012 February 29 16:56:38 »

Hi,

I haven't quite figured out a reliable way to reproduce this yet but pressing 'reset' on the STF window does not always cause the active window to display properly. Approximate steps:

- open linear image
- apply Auto STF
- apply AutoHistgram
- image blanks (turns all white because STF and Histogram both brighten the pixels)
- press 'reset' on STF
- STF dialog sliders reset to 'no STF'
- image still blank/white
- hit Ctrl-A
- hit 'reset' on STF
- image looks OK
Best,

Are you sure that you have track view enabled on the STF tool, and that the image in question is the active view when you do this?

The image was most certainly the active one. I have image transparency disabled and it was on top, completely visible. Not sure about the track image part.  I've used STF for years so I don't think I did something wrong but it's possible of course.

Hmm, it's probably that you had track view disabled. I say this because it has also happened to me.

If you hit Ctrl+A when the STF interface is not visible, the STF process applies the automatic stretch to the active image, but the track view option of the STF interface is not enabled. This is a limitation of the current PI workspace: track view options cannot be enabled for hidden interfaces, for performance reasons. So when you open the STF tool, it has track view disabled, even if the image has the auto stretch applied. This is confusing and I'll try to fix it in the next version. Does this make sense?

I did use Ctrl-A for the first time last night (very nice, thanks for adding that). It is possible that made things confusing. I will try to create a repeatable test case.
