Press [Ctrl + PgDown] forever under Win 7 64bit...
« on: 2012 February 12 11:15:57 »
... scrolling between 2 images - and you will be surprised, PixInsight will crash pretty soon... :(
2 x 8 MPix bw images w/PixInsight 01.07.05.0779 (Starbucks) 64bit,
Win7 Prof 64 bit, 24 Gb RAM, i7-980....
Unfortunately, sometimes it's reproducible - some times not... :(
Applying of [A]STF and some ImageIntegration made before can help :)

***
Tried to consistently reproduce it.. without success...
The fact that sometimes it happens and sometimes - not, just makes it nastier... :(

What message do you get when it crashes?

Unfortunately, I've not done screenshot at the moment.
First time there was something about error in access to memory and the other time it was "Pixinsight doesn't response..."

Hi Yuriy

I can't reproduce this problem on virtual and physical Windows machines. I need more information or a way to reproduce this problem in order to investigate and fix it. Somebody else has seen a similar behavior?

I think the graphics driver is a possible source of such problems. Just thinking...

Upsss... I did it again :police:
See screenshot. I'm curious why does it tell PCL Win32 System exception if I'm working under Win7 64bit and have appropriate version of PixInsight...?
Looks like you have to have some process window opened above images to reproduce this...
First time it was possible to close those messages with exception info, there were 3 of them one after another, after that PI continued its work but fully crashed in 2 secs when I've tried [Ctrl + PgDown] again...

I've nailed it. FitsHeader in TrackView regime is the key. Continuous [Ctrl + PgDown] will crash PI in any case after that.
