Bug Fix Not Working?
« on: 2012 February 07 13:15:25 »
I have today downloaded and installed the latest release of PI, which I understood corrected the 'Process Explorer/Documentation' window overlap.

I am still seeing half to the process Icons text, cut-off by the documenation half of the window (see attached screen dump).

Am running Win 7 64bit Home Premium.

Hi Dave,

Can you confirm that you're running version 1.7.5.779?

This bug has been fixed in the latest update, we cannot reproduce it anymore on any of our test machines (on any platform). Anybody else can confirm this problem?

Is the update available?  I just logged in to "downloads->software distribution" and it still looks like the 1.7.4 files there.  Where did you get it from?

Yes, I tried that.  But it says "no updates available" for me.

Where did you get it from?

When I opened PI, a 'pop up' with a 'link' advised me that a new version was available to download.

Logged in, downloaded and installed the new version.

Indeed Harry, and I only wish it worked for me, as it is so annoying using the PI GUI with this problem sitting there

I think I will try un-installing PI, then download and install a fresh copy.

Hi

Why don't you try a reset first , to see if this sorts things out

The only reset I can see, is under the Preview tab, being 'reset or 'reset all'.

If this what you are referring to, then applying it makes no difference.

Hi

Go to the start menu ( windows ) and look under the pixinsight menu and you will see "reset pixinsight setting"

Before I came back and read your last 'post' Harry, I had deleted PI (using windows uninstaller), downloaded and installed a fresh copy.

This was dated 28/12/11, and of course when opened, showed the same problem.

I then followed your instruction, and run the reset under the windows start menu, which did clear the problem.  :)

However, it seems to have restored PI to how it was before the version with the 'bug' was installed, as I have a nice clean 'process explorer' window, with no documentation add-on.

Is this how it is supposed to be, that is with no documentaion extension window?
