PI Freezed when savin a proyect
« on: 2012 February 04 19:37:43 »
Hello
I was saving my new project.
After an hour of inactivity (watching with task manager and recource monitor) I finally had to kill PI.
It created the data directory whit 28Gb data on it  but no xosm file.

Is there a way to recover the project?

Platform is win64 8G ram 4 core Phenom.

Regards
Geert

I had something like this when I ran out of disk space. Is your disk full?

Georg

I still have 50Gb free.
Anyway, do you know why a proyect uses such huge amount of space?

No idea. Maybe a bug, maybe a large history??

it's saving all the images that comprise the history of each window. so that can take loads and loads of disk space.

by the way, because of this, whenever i use the MaskedStretch script i will usually clone the result, then undo all the way back to before i did the masked stretch on the original image, and then do something else, like inverting it or some other junk operation which i then undo.

that will clear out all the history associated with the masked stretch, which can be 50-100 images depending on how you run the script.

thanks pfile
I'll take this in account, because I use this script, and there is no disk that can hold those proyects.
may be the right solution is to execute the script on a clone, then copy the clone back to the original image and delete the clone....

I think this should be considered to be a bug in the MaskedStretch script. It does not make sense to store the history for each single step. If you agree, please submit a report in the bugreports/wishlist section of the forum.

It is not a bug of the script. The problem is in the histogram transformation. In this tool the history/undo information can not be disabled when it is used with a mask.
