SH2-146 Wizard
« on: 2011 November 05 08:54:35 »
Hi. Here's a rendition of the Wizard Nebula in HaLRGB:

http://www.astrophotogallery.org/member-galleries/p8388-sh2-142-wizard-nebula.html

It is all PI except, I confess, for the HaLRGB combination done at the very end following Tony Hallas (the last thing I still do in PS).

Feedback, as usual, appreciated.

Hello Jeff,

I like the details in Your photo.
The colors look good.
I am also looking for a nice solution especially for Ha LRGB but at the moment it doesn't work as I want it to work :-)

Maybe You could reduce the star size a little bit.... that is all from my side :-)

Chris

Thanks, Chris-
I took your suggestion and reduced star size somewhat -- and think it was a good one since I like it better.
I recommend Hallas' technique, (although pure Photoshop) because it really gives you complete control at the very end after you've done your best individually on the L, RGB and Ha.  Astronomy Magazine had a short article by Tony on it, but his CCD set has it in great detail.
Revised Wizard is at the same location:
