Congratulations on a super rendition of the Iris. I must say you have really nailed this one, especially the colouring of it. I had a go at this in April and didn't get close to the bonfire-effect you have dug out. Especially the yellow cores and red fringes of the stars really shows that we're seeing them through smoke. I'll have to try to reprocess mine and see if I can do enything to get closer to a result like your's.

Thanks very much, Lex, Ginge-
    This was processed very quickly (for me) without doing too much of anything.  I was amazed myself to see how the blue-lighted areas integrate perfectly into the brown dust - obviously all of the same stuff but somehow I hadn't realized that from looking at many images of this lovely target before (including one of my own last year).
