Strange behavior of star aligment
« on: 2011 October 28 07:50:13 »
Hello
I was working last night in a set of images I took of Helix Nebula.
About 30% of images were taken after a mount flip (images rotated in 180°).

Normaliy I had no problems with this, but this time when I integrated the image, I got something like a butterfly centered on Helix.

Of course this is easy to overcome rotating images prior to registration, but my cuestion is is this a bug? or is there really a set of stars in the image that could mislead the registration?

Regards
Geert
