Is It Possible To Clear The Cache?
« on: 2011 October 16 18:57:45 »
Hi all,

I am a new PixInsight user and am still learning to use the program effectively.

I have been using the program heavily while I learn and have noticed that the first use of the ImageIntegration process is very slow to start.

When executing a the process in the global context, it takes up to two minutes before the processing console opens and starts showing the processing status.  The first message is a notation that 3500+ cached items have been loaded.  I assume that is what is taking up the time before starting to work on the list of files supplied.

Is there a way to periodically clear that cache so I don't incur such a first use time penalty?  I would probably like to clear the cache as I move from one image processing project to another.  Once I have finished playing with one image set and move on, I don't especially need to save the cached items from that project.

I should also note that I am using a relatively fast computer.  It has an i7 2630 processor with 8GB RAM and a couple of 500GB hard files.  After the long initial delay with ImageIntegration, PixInsight is actually quite speedy.

   Thanks!  That worked perfectly.

I had not even noticed that "Preferences" icon at the bottom of the ImageIntegration process window.
