Strange Hardware Question
« on: 2011 September 04 12:49:54 »
When PixInsight is doing a long process... alignment of 45 subs for example, after about 50 Percent my computer goes into sleep mode.  The computer is set to never go into sleep and doesn't with any other software.  When I wake it up, PixInsight continues the process and completes.

OS is Win 7 64 bit on a ThinkPad 61p 2.6 dual core, 8gig of ram. ( running on AC )

Now I knew PicInsight was written to optimize resources but this is ridiculousness <g>

Has anyone else seen this or have any ideas?

Al

I have not seen this behavior.

Do you have more than one power profile for your laptop, say, battery versus on AC?

I also observed this behaviour a while ago (also posted in this forum). My workaround for the moment is to deactivate "Save Energy" in the Win7 Energy options.
