DBE Error Question
« on: 2011 June 25 14:04:29 »
Trying DBE on a picture of the Crescent Neb and getting an error:

Couldn't execute instance on view...

Reason:  This DynamicBroundExtraction instance has less than three background samples defined.

I tried manually placing the samples... ( which you'd need to I guess with so many background stars ), also tried auto with small sample radius....

I'm sure I'm missing something but not sure what to try.  ( I've used DBE with great success on other images ).

Try increasing "Tolerance". PI is using this parameters to distinguuish between gradients and useful structures. If you have strong gradients in the background of your image, the default tolerance my be too low.

That did it.  Had to go up to 3.0 on the Tolerance.

Thanks much !

Hi

You must be seeing red samples on your image  ;)   if you are these will not be included in the DBE model of the background  , by increasing the tolerance you have brought the samples into the model.

Something to keep your on  8)
