Error message when align or integration
« on: 2011 May 31 08:21:49 »
Hi all,

I've been an owner for awhile, but with no new data I haven't been using the program much.  I'm watching Harry's excellent videos and working at the same time...with the new ver 1.7.

When I attempt to align some images with StarAlignment I get an error code:
PixInsight API Error
AttachToImage(): Low-level API function error
API error code = 14:
Invalid image handle

So, I thought I'd try some previously aligned images from CCDStack......no joy...
I get the same error code....so, am I missing something obvious?

thanks for the help

bud

Bud,

I think that's the bug others have reported and Juan is working on. See http://pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?topic=3081.0

Hi Steve,

You are producing some great images....and I am looking forward to your presentation at the AIC.

We are just getting some data from the new obs and I thought I'd give PI a go.......I have only kind of fussed with the program a bit, but I wanted to be prepared for your presentation.

Doesn't it just figure....with my luck, that the first actual stuff that I try has a little bug in it?
But, I'm patient and will wait for the fix,.....and keep watching Harry's excellent videos.

thanks for welcoming me to your home a while back.....you were very gracious,

best regards,

bud

Hi Harry,

I haven't had any new image data for almost two years.....just been hanging around different forums, but our New Mexico obs is almost up and running...so new data to fool with real soon....in fact we are collecting quite a bit on M51 and I'm trying to figure out some of the more basic things in PI instead of just using some of the neat filters.
But, alas, I've ran up against a few bugs in the new release....so, I'm watching your videos again.

any idea how to take a script here:

How do I make this work.....I tried pasting it into the editor and then compiling, but no joy.

I got the script thing figured out.....

It seems to work well for the column......

Now, if I could figure out how to debloom.....I have two cameras that both give really nice blooms.

Hi

Glad you sorted that out on your own  8)

There is a debloom tool planned somewhere but do not hold your breath  ;D

Does anyone have a description of a good deblooming algorithm? Any links welcome.

Hello Georg,

Ron Wodaski made a debloom that most people found very effective.  He no longer supports it for the various platforms, but he has made his code available/open source.
I would think you could look at this code and find the algorithm and then rework it to work within PI.

here is his debloom page:
http://newastro.com/downloads/products.php

He has the source code for both CCDSoft and MaximDL that he made....it appears to be in visual basic.....It should be possible to find the algorithm from these.....

I hope this is helpful,
